'Don't Follow the Yellow Brick Road'

While walking a marketplace an Ancient Greek philosopher once said: 'So many things I'll never need.' This thought became even truer today. Our civilisation is producing so many items, products, wishes and services a person doesn't need at all. It all became about conformity and fulfilling wishes created by the marketing industry. Most of us spend their hard earned money on so many literary useless things. Shops and supermarkets are filled from top to bottom with colourful bates we swallow like a hungry fish. Does it need to be so?

This colourful image was taken with the above thought in mind. Notice the abundance of colours luring us like a bee to a flower. When I saw the floor painted in yellow, I just couldn't resist thinking of the "yellow brick road" from the Wizard of Oz. Somehow, I doubt the yellow is there by chance. These people have done their research to the tiniest detail in order to make people shop more and spend more. Do we really need to follow that yellow brick road in order to fulfil our real wishes, the ones that were not created by someone else?

Notice the woman in the background, at the end of the yellow area. She is dressed in black and doesn't know what to choose.

Do not follow the yellow brick road. :D

Enjoy!

Now a days these kind of ideas are a really common to attract the customers.

wow, really very impressible art..this market looks very fresh and attractive.i looks alots of important thing stayed this mall. you better go shopping alone or if you have to be with friends go with one or two friends only and certainly a friend who is famous for its thrift. You have to resist the temptation of shopping therefore avoid as much as possible to enter the stores that become your favorite and of course if you go ketoko it must have any goods that you buy even though you do not really need it. For example, a clothing store if you really like the fasion you will certainly embeli the goods offered especially there are discount frills, shop merchants that have just launched, this shop is also usually a favorite shop the women. However, if there are still difficulties, determine the maximum amount of money that can be spent in the store to satisfy your appetite. Because if you continue to be arrested and not dilampiaskan then it actually triggers you to shop for more.thanks to sharing for your great post..take care yourself and best of luck of your great work.may god bless you..my dear friend @velimir

What a poignant thought process and so VERY true @velimir! I often think similar thoughts, when making my way to the checkout through the "lengthy" impulse sales aisle, with all the candy and other rubbish that we really DON'T need!

Loved this post!!! MWAH!

This is a very true and wise idea. We live in time when the world is driven by the desire for consumption. However, this desire is imposed. Every day wherever you go you will encounter advertising and other moneys that will unconsciously inspire you to "consume". This is the whole art with which corporations force us to acquire what we do not need. We are forced to think that if we do not buy this or that thing, then we will be outcasts of society.
When I go to a supermarket with my wife, then more often than not I will spend extra money on unnecessary things. I myself realize this. However, not all people think about it. Most often people come to the supermarket buret a large shopping cart and just spend their money. This is exactly what supports the whole system.
Marketers use the weak lines of the human psyche to unknowingly impose unnecessary things on us. Anyway, we are all subject to this influence. Even those people who claim that completely free from the influence of the system are not right.
A bright yellow photo that has a special meaning. I remember the expression from the movie "The Matrix" - follow the white rabbit. So the expression of this photo says - "Do not follow the road from the yellow brick."
Cool photo! I like it! Thank you

This appetite was not happening among women alone, but sometimes men are also hooked whose name shopping and hungry eyes are the same as women. Well 'for you who have a problem and very hard to brake lust shopping.

The taste of your shopping because of the nature of humans in general like to be talkative when he saw his friend buy this that he thought interesting so follow-buy. Especially for women who are generally happy to make shopping activities as one moment to socialize with his group anything would be the same as his friends.

So you better go shopping alone or if you have to be with friends go with one or two friends only and certainly a friend who is famous for its thrift.

You have to resist the temptation of shopping therefore avoid as much as possible to enter the stores that become your favorite and of course if you go ketoko it must have any goods that you buy even though you do not really need it. @velimir People should understand the difference between the needed and the worthless. Stationery items used to attract me a lot but now I have learned to control myself and I guess I saved a lot.

Great post. Yes I do not think we need all the products that are available on the market today. As a child, I remember my mom grating green soap and doing the washing with that. Our clothes were white and clean.

I love this! we should all followed the path least traveled in life!!! I tried to contact you on discord for an initiative I am doing with the steem community!

Great message, @ velimir. I love the image, the colors, a lot of blue and yellow, it looks good. and as you say, the woman seems to be lost there among so many things without being clear about what she wants or really needs. I think more than one has ever happened to us.
