Update to oil painting/ some outdoor climb throwbacks

I'm fucking BUSY. All the time!

This is about as far as I went.

My weekend was crammed full and I didn't have any time to sit down and paint:

  • I had to go to the gym
  • went bowling with @ghostfish and @blainegarrett and several of my good friends whom I have not seen in a while. (That was so nice. I have a solid group of friends who I appreciate and love very much.)
  • I took a top rope class at another gym
  • I also had to work a bit from home then
  • I had to finish up some chores that I have sorely neglected.

I also took Sunday off just to hang out with my daughter, folding laundry and binge-watching the new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I needed that, and it was so lovely. <3 <3

So yeahhhhhh..........today I take my belay test...which oddly enough, I am not nervous about. I've always been so nervous about taking tests of any kind.

It's funny that I started climbing outdoors a couple of years back but never really bothered to take my test because I was nervous about someone's safety on my hands. I'm certainly more comfortable with it now.

A few outdoor climbs and practicing really helps!

It's crazy how just putting the word "test" after something can make it stressful... go climbing outside and belay a couple buddies? Show me how to use the gri-gri, and we're good to go 5 minutes later.

Put someone on the spot in a gym, ask them to tie a figure8-knot and run a gri-gri, and there's a good chance they start having an internal mini-panic-attack.

YESSSSS. Tests fuck me up all the time. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Also the gri-gri seriously changed my life. @ghostfish has a few kilograms (of muscle, I swear) on me and I have to belay him sometimes. It would be tough without my gri-gri. I'm super stir crazy right now, I wish I could go climbing somewhere warm.

God climbing looks so fun. Something I always wish I'd gotten into. I know there's still plenty of time, and I'm sure I will at some point in my life; how soon's a huge fucking question mark though haha.

Great progress on the painting!

You can do it!!! I started a couple years ago, and I'm old AF at 33 this year. My dude started about the same age and he's climbing difficult things now so you have a ton of time! :D :D

Thank you so much!!

A lot of fun out there!! I'm glad for you! :)

Can't wait until it is warmer so I can climb outside again!

Don't forget to take some pics! I just can't get enough of this activity :D also many thanks for the resteem! I just noticed that ❤️
