I should be wrapping presents

in #art7 years ago (edited)

This evening I’ve been sketching in the living room, seated by the window. I was waiting for the FedEx guy who would be delivering one of @guthrie’s Christmas gifts. It’s always tricky when you need to sign for a package but it was received successfully. I’ll be wrapping up all of the presents after posting or I may find another excuse to put it off for another day.

When I started drawing this I had wanted to write some script, specifically the word ‘twitch’ by her eye. I’ve been interested in experimenting with script and panels that you’d see in a comic book but ended up stopping here. My penmanship would not be at it’s best so I need a break before I even try to write anything.

I wanted to include the word twitch because I’m currently suffering from a twitch in one of my eyes. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a twitch that wouldn’t leave.

The first time it happened was years ago. A customer from my first job ever was arguing with me over something that was out of my control. Something like...her wanting a garment in a specific color that did not exist in the shop. After a few minutes her boyfriend walked over and said “Babe, can you finish fighting so we can go?” She briskly answered back with “Okay” and they walked out like nothing had happened. 😖

It had to be stress induced with the second episode. I had a twitch in my brow, corner of my eye, and the corner of my lip. I did go in for a check-up and my doctor couldn’t find any problems. He just said that I needed rest.

This time I have no clear idea what it could be. The twitch is coming from the inner corner of my right eye and it’s a rapid movement. I’ve been keeping the light on my devices on a lower setting incase it’s caused from a strain in my eyes. Maybe I need better sleep? I know my eating habits could be better. I’m honestly not too worried about it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the progress shots!

Out of 5, what would you rate your penmanship? 🦊📝

Wow soooo soft looking. Thats impressive. I want to see you "finish" a full face like this one day when you have time. You are being an art tease! not that I am complaining lol

😆 NEVER! I’ll remain a tease!

great seeing the process of layers. Looking nice.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the process!

I'm looking for an artist to make a custom (Easy) music logo. Are you down. I'll pay in Steem or SBD

You might want to try the steemgigs channel on Discord. There are plenty of graphic designers out there looking for some gigs :)

I had a twitch in my eyebrow that lasted for a few days and would come back after a few days. At first I could ignore it but after the second day it was so noticeable. The worst part was that it happened while I was studying for finals. It's something that is so small but can get so annoying too.

My handwriting is 1.5/5. It is pretty horrible, especially because since taking down lecture notes make my handwriting look like a hybrid of print, cursive and Sanskrit.

Yeah, it’s hard to focus on anything when you’re eye is twitching! Glad you can relate. Sucks that it happened during finals.

I spent years having to sign things off with my name so I can see how it slowly changes overtime. My handwriting is probably in the same category as yours.

Beautiful. I really love the soft coloring too.

Thank you! It was my first time using these colors so I’m happy to hear all the great feedback!

Honestly, having seen what is possible and what I do, I'd say 2.5/5 (below is an example) :p

These drawings where you combine different colours for varying stylistic effects is very interesting...

Wow! Your handwriting isn’t bad at all. Mine is wayyyy too loose and I have issues writing evenly.

I’m glad to hear that you’re digging my style. I find that the color combos keep me interested in my work and it brings me joy.

I think you have to get better at writing and improving your penmanship before you realize just how much more room for improvement there is. Another aspect of penmanship is your speed of writing without losing consistency and style (which is something I have a lot of problem with at the moment).

I can't quite put your drawing style to words, but seeing that you are also involved in a few different areas on steemit (and outside steemit) makes me think that you have incorporated many different ideas and influences in your work, and I am a very big fan of the end result :) And if it keeps you engaged while also bringing you joy, then that's just awesome!

Ahhh.... I read the words speed and consistency and already knew that I failed! Hah!

Awww, you flatter me! I’m happy to read all the great feedback about my blog! Yeah, I’m always thinking of fresh ideas to bring to my blog. Sometimes I get a little manic because I don’t have enough time or skill to execute all of them but it motivates me to improve!

You're such a talented artist!! :) Very cool how that last gif shows the whole process layer by layer! My penmanship can vary depending on how fast I am going, I 've learned a little bit of calligraphy as well:)

Thank you! Yeah, I’ll typically include a final gif to pull it all together. It’s fun to watch. I’ve been trying to learn a little bit of calligraphy myself but I’m not fully committed.

I like it very very much. I hope that i can draw like you does :)

Glad you liked it. We can all draw, all you need is practice! :)

Thanks your thought and advice. İ will follow you :)

awesome work! I would also like to make more digital art, Followed :)

Thanks! I hope you do because it’s only been two years since I’ve converted to digital and I love it!
