Architecture Sketching

in #art7 years ago

A little pencil sketch of one of my favorite places in Warsaw, Wilanów Palace.
It’s a baroque residence built for king Sobieski. He’s famous for winning a battle in Vienna in 1683, but I remember him best from history lessons for his love letters to his wife “Marysienka”, showing their great feeling, problems and how they missed each other when they were parted. ❤️

And that’s what it looks like in reality:

Thanks ! 😊

I like these architectural drawings, It's been ages since I don't do one of these...I suppose I kinda avoided it because of my estranged relationship with architecture

I’m glad you like it! Why do you have an estranged relationship with architecture? 😄

Oh well I studied Architecture at the University but that didn't end very well...and I sort of developed this irrational negative response toward it...to the technical aspects mostly, couldn't stand 1 minute longer watching an Autocad screen or hear my acquaintances talk about architecture 24/7 etc... So I decided to shut it all out for my sanity's sake and moved on into other areas of design and arts hehe

Hahha I know what you’re saying, I study architecture now and I’m also planning to move to just painting :D I don’t really like the environment and constructions and physics are definitely not my thing 😂 but I like history of architecture and art in general though 😄

I do love history as well, still think that the best way to know about a specific period is to study the art done in that time 🤓.
Recently went through a medievalist phase and learned a lot of stuff 😆

That’s true, art tells a lot! Medieval paintings can be super funny sometimes 😆 I’m learning now about baroque architecture, I like to know how it was transforming throughout centuries
