This week's artchallenge, hosted by @aksinya is to interpret a surreal painting by Mariola Bogacki.

At first glance the painting is a love letter personified. When you are in love, it envelops you completely, as suggested by the white envelope. While love is pure, as the white symbolises, it can also be blind as we see the man's eyes are covered by the white cloth. The walls are bare and there is no furniture in the room but the couple are so wrapped up in each other that they are oblivious to the surroundings. They may be poor but they believe they don't need material goods to be happy. As long as they have each other then nothing matters.

However if you notice the cracks on the wall you will see that there is some conflict and cracks in the relationship already. They just choose to ignore it because it is easier to push the unpleasant stuff to the back of one's mind. I think the painting is a warning not to let the cracks of one's relationship get bigger and bigger for the sake of "harmony." Communication is key.

While women enjoy the romance in earnest and easily carried away the atmosphere created by men. the painter knows that the interaction of romance is full of tricks and intrigue. more precisely, the relationship of romance is a space of gender politics.

Interesting perspective

great as always!
