How Artificial Intelligence is Composing Music & Will Soon Take Over the Music Industry

The days are actually getting closer where AI is eventually eating up all the industries. As humans this could lead everyone panicking as AI steal their jobs. With technology constantly upgrading & changing, we all will have to admit that with so much of data the AI gets and stores it is for sure being proved already that AI do a better job then Humans. The way i see it either we can be scared of AI taking our jobs or we can embrace it and enjoy our life spending time with out families and by letting AI’s do the work. We are all aware when technology improved during the industrial revolution millions of jobs were lost. The time has once again come when a new revolution is going to start. Today i wanna talk about how IBM Watson AI is composing music.

IBM Watson Music

Grammy award-winning music producer Alex Da Kid collaborated with IBM watson to see if they could possibly create a song together. Watson is well capable of turning millions of unstructured data points into emotional insight that would create a new kind of music.

Watson Tone Analyzer Api read over 26,000 top 100 songs while Cognitive Color Design Tool ingested its album art. Watson beat then analysed the compositions and created its own patterns of keys, chord progression and genres completing an emotional fingerprint of music.

Technology Behind the music

Tone Analyzer - Measures Human Emotions, Social Tendencies and language style from lyrics or text

AlchemyLanguage - Understands finer details in text like sentiments, entities, concepts and more through natural language processing.

Watson Beat - Interprets musical theory, structure and emotional intent from a few notes and can expand upon it to create entire songs.

Cognitive Color Design Tool - Unerstands the Psychological effects of colors, the interrelationships between emotions and image aesthetics.
