INSPIRATION

I once asked a close friend of mine what inspires him and he answered that he gets inspired when he is with friends and I didn't doubt him a bit. In reality we are all inspired by so many different things, it could be drinking alcohol, walking, solitude, listening to some specific kinds of music, sleeping with the opposite sex, smoking or even when we are sad.

Inspiration takes place when our mind sees or hears things that causes it to have exciting ideas (could be new or refined) or it could be a sudden urge to create something especially in art, music,literature or even in the sciences.

Inspiration is so very important and needful in today's world,especially the creative world. We can say that one of the things that makes a creative work stand out is the kind or quality of inspiration. That is how vital inspiration is.

When composing, the most difficult period is in its first conception, and when the idea is there, one can move on. There seems to be no universal way of stimulating the imagination and increasing the power of fantasy, but the truth is that inspiration is a fugitive thing and obey no man made laws. Inspiration does not seek for man's permission to settle on him. It comes and must be utilized instantly because if gone it can not be recovered.

INSPIRATION, IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY
( are they the same?)

From my earlier definition of inspiration:

But imagination is the ability to create pictures in your mind, this is also the formation of a mental image of something that is not perceive as real and is not present to the senses, while creativity is just the ability to create.

Going or looking at the following definitions,i will say that inspiration occurs many times out of what our minds perceive and imagine, this in turn make us create what has never been there before. Which means that inspiration can occur because of our imaginations and thus trigger our creativity.

Many of us are inspired according to our human nature or who really we are, though atimes, many do not necessarily find out or know exactly what gives them inspiration, but in reality many things give us inspiration. So many times, we could be inspired for good and atimes it could be for bad purposes.

In composing, outside the compositional techniques which could be taught, inspiration can never be taught because it emanates as a result of our creative thought. More so in true life encounter, inspiration can come at any time, any day and under any condition.

Musically, two performers cannot perform at the same level or spirit even if they were performing the same piece, this is due to inspiration, this in return makes a lot of performers, artists, singers or dancers seek for ways they can perform in high spirits. Does it really work?, yes it does, depending on what one takes into his mind, body and soul and the level he/she wishes to attain such high spirit.

AS A PERSON, DO I NEED INSPIRATION?

We all need inspiration to make our world a better and great place.it is in inspiration that new ideas are made creative. Many of us, even when the inspiration is there to sing, compose, write facts and changing stories, we tends to be lazy with it, and when such inspiration is gone, then it's gone for life.

Inspiration is not just for musicians, writers and even scientists need inspiration too, because without inspiration, there will be nothing to write about. When the inspiration comes, start writing something and before one knows, the inspiration keeps coming and one will write a whole lot of things, be it informative or creative.

Inspiration to the musician is like something which takes over someone and this happens in such a way that one's spirit is no longer of this world but the spiritual world where strong and mighty facts, rhythm, powerful messages are exported to the physical world. This also applies to the scientist, since the creative thought is involved

CAN ONE BE INSPIRED NEGATIVELY?

One can be inspired negatively, depending on his creative thought.when one is inspired, it is now in his /her power to determine if he wants to use such ideas for good or for bad purposes. Example is having the inspiration to compose a particular piece of music. Nothing is wrong in composing, but something is wrong when a composition carries wrong and corrupt messages. Such inspiration is now affected by negative thoughts ,and in return affects the minds and imagination of people who listened to such composition.
Every inspiration can be turned into something very good and useful to human, of course that is the essence to which inspiration was given. It was to take man’s mind to a state where his ideas can be made to function and produce things that were never in existence.

DO WE REALLY EXPERIENCE INSPIRATION?

Yes!, we do. At different levels, our encounter proves we all experienced inspiration. Even when one wakes up in the morning to see another new day, is enough reason for one to be inspired. Get to know what inspires you in life, for me it's classical music and symphonies, but what really inspires you in life?.
