The Guitarist - Drawing Practice
This drawing was finished a couple of weeks ago and now it's time to publish it.
Materials used:
- 148x210 mm, 100g/m2 paper
- 0.5 rotring pencil,
- HB, 2B, 5B, 6B pencils
- eraser.
As much as I was afraid of drawing faces, I think it became my favorite subject. I still need a lot of practice to be able to draw different angles and expressions but at least I'm not afraid any more.
Drawing faces made me pay more attention to details. Now if I see a photo, my first reaction is to observe the shadows, the lines etc.
This drawing is a composition, it symbolizes a musician, a guitarist and believe me or not, the hardest part to draw were the notes.
To be genuine, I had to look up the notes of a real song, then try to copy it exactly :)
I'm pretty satisfied with the profile, I think it really looks like a human being :)

Thank you very much @pixresteemer!
I like the soft texture on the guitar. It looks like you experimented with some shading? I also like the way the hair appears to be very detailed and nice to look. The musical notes have a special appeal I also really like, as if they required great concentration to capture the flowing look. You did a great job on this!
Thank you very much @futuremind for the nice review 😀. I had a lot of fun drawing it, but I always have fun with each of my drawings. That's why I'm drawing.
It shows. It's nice to watch how your drawing evolves through new experiences. I can't wait to see more!
Thank you so much for your constant support!
Now I have to draw a big, hairy Viking guy for @roxy-cat! 😁
hahahaha!!!! 🤣
This one, Erika. This one... 😍
Ok, I make your wish come true but would you be kind and find a photo instead of a gif?
There you go.
Excellent, do you want his head cut off at the top or should I improvise a head for this guy? :P
but the results are very good, I like the picture of your painting.
Thank you!
This portrait looks great. But the guy seems too nice to be a guitar player. 🙂
Great job!
Yeah, sure, because only big hairy guys can play the guitar 🎸😁
However, thank you, I'm glad you like it.
Not necessary. But usually guitar players have a wild look, no matter if long or short haired. Otherwise, they would be just folk players. 😂
Come on Roxy, this is the new generation! 😜
I suppose... However I'm one of those longing for the glorious past of the heavy metal. 😂
Times change darling 😁
