Working with Taurus Energy -- In the sky and in your life (even if you're not a Taurus ... maybe especially then) #1

The importance of Taurus

The energy of Taurus is essential for grounding and nourishing the initiatives and new starts begun in Aries. Therefore its energy is markedly different from the enthusiasm and enterprise so characteristic of Aries.

Taurus prefers to take something that has already been started, especially something just getting underway, and provide it with nourishment, support and assistance.

Aries excels at starting things. Taurus doesn't. Aries leads, pushes the envelope of experience and ventures out into the unknown. Taurus prefers to amble along behind and take life as it comes. It loves to enjoy the scenery Aries races through too fast to notice.

Both are essential

Aries gets things going. Taurus keeps them alive. It doesn't like dealing with the unknown or the unpredictable. Taurus hates surprises worse than any other sign.

But Taurus will gladly follow a competent leader. It is able to plan for the future, direct growth and provide a little braking power when things are moving too fast. (That can happen. It happens a lot when Aries is in charge.) Taurus strengthens and builds on things already begun.

So naturally, one follows the other

When projects, or ventures or lives are just getting started, Taurus understands the need to protect and sustain the new growth until it's able to stand on its own, make its own way in the world ... and support itself with its own efforts.

Without Taurus' steadfast ability to stabilize and maintain, too many ventures die young.

The energy of Taurus

So, the energy of Taurus is calm and steady -- especially compared to the pushy impatience of Aries which precedes it, or the jittery, nervous qualities of Gemini which follows. Taurus is patient and persistent. When it commits to a venture, an idea, a job or a relationship, it sticks with it.

It does not like change and will do a lot to avoid it, including putting up with issues, problems, inconvenience and burdens that cause Taurus a lot of unnecessary stress.

Even Taurus realizes he really should address and fix things that are going awry much earlier than he does. But since "waiting to see what happens" is easy, that's what he usually chooses. If something will sort itself out so he doesn't have to, he prefers that.

Takin' it easy -- whenever possible

Let's face it, part of this attitude is just laziness. Taurus likes to take the easy way out whenever possible, especially where trouble, conflict and obstacles are concerned. So that's what he does -- and tries to call it a virtue. True, he likes to conserve resources and use assets wisely, but sometimes making that case for the way he reacts is a stretch.

It lets little problems grow into big ones when they could have been stopped early on. But that's the way Taurus is. And you certainly aren't going to change him, if he can help it. Keep that in mind if you're tempted to try.

The people of Taurus

So, the people of Taurus are known to be laid-back, easy-going and reluctant to upset anyone, change course or rock the boat. Their Taurus energy doesn't contain much initiative. They need something more dynamic -- like Aries or Capricorn energy in their character -- to give that.

Fortunately there's a chance that either Mercury or Venus will be in Aries in their chart -- to keep them from turning into just self-indulgent lumps. Their Moon Sign might help provide balance ... and Mars in a proactive sign also helps.

They "think things through" ...

The people of Taurus love to plan ahead -- sometimes years at a time. (Those famous 5-year plans people are so fond of in business probably came from the mind of a Taurus. But it's not a bad idea -- and applies to your life goals nicely, too.)

And because they don't like to make changes, they want to stick to those plans -- even when the plans themselves need adjustment, or when trying something different would clearly get better results.

... and do things their own way

It's hard to convince one that what he wants to do can't be done the way he's going about it ... or that another strategy would be faster, easier, more sensible. About the only argument he'll seriously consider is if you can show him that "your way" would be more profitable, less expensive, produce more useful results in the long-run.

Taurus has a keen eye for "the bottom line" -- especially where his own assets are concerned. So something that can show him either more savings or better rewards gets his attention. Try that if you need to make headway.

What's happening now with Taurus

There is a lot of nice Capricorn energy in the sky right now. Mars (action and physical energy) is there. Saturn (construction and long-term stability) is there for another two years. Pluto (renovation and important transformations / course corrections) has been there for the last ten years and will be there for another five.

Taurus / Capricorn trines are fabulous for developing long-term financial strategies, solidifying your monetary gains and using the resources at hand to bring comfort, stability and security to your life. Put some time and effort into "plans for the future" regarding the economic situation you want to build and the kind of lifestyle you're after.

Play the long game

Look for solid investments and long-term growth efforts. These two Earth Signs don't move quickly. They don't have much interest -- or faith -- in get-rich-quick efforts. They want ventures that are concrete, dependable and secure.

Most of all, they want to hold onto their gains. Volatility annoys them, because even if it's going up in value, Taurus knows it could fall again just as fast.

Make it so

Having to make quick decisions gets on his nerves, so he'll do what it takes to avoid that. But right now, the cosmic climate is great for the kind of investments and efforts Taurus prefers. Slow, steady, dependable. Built to appreciate and built to last.

So if you have Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn assets in your horoscope, put them to work. Pisces placements are also in the catbird seat. Do it now. They may not make you a millionaire overnight, but they'll get the job done. Do your part. Put in the work. Be there. You have natural help to make things happen!

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

You explain her so beautifully, thanks for that @enchantedspirit. I've very much been enjoying my Taurean infusion of energy. I'm eager for the new moon!

I have never seen so many valuable and interesting details on Taurus in one place! It's funny though...I was supposed to be Gemini but ended up being born too early and Taurus...and much of what actually represents Gemini suits me more! I am also a twin and my numerology number is eleven which basically combines two numbers. I believe that everything happens for a reason...but this has always been a mystery to me! Anyway...have you ever encountered anyone that technically should belong to another zodiac sign? All my personality traits and energy frequencies turn towards Gemini and are almost polar opposites to Taurus!

I love this time of year, it always gives me a certain energy kick and I have that urge to do everything! It is like waking up from a long winter slumber, weeee. Life again!
