A Quick Trip to Fitzgerald Bay

After lunch at my mother-in-law's house, John and I decided to take a short trip to Fitzgerald Bay to test drive our Ford Fairlane V8 1995. John has been working on this car for three years, but of course, there had been months that he did not look into it. But the last three or four months, he suddenly became too enthused to fix the car. He took it to the mechanic and found out that the issue was the distributor, so he got it fixed finally. He had the windows tinted it as well and cleaned it to the point that it was almost spotless. The colour of the car is white.

The reason we did a test drive on this car because he wanted to check if it would be reliable enough to drive all the way to Adelaide and back when we go to the city next month. The drive was smooth. Driving it is actually a pleasure. It is comfortable and easy. Everything is functioning quite well. However, after the drive, John decided we will drive our other car instead since it has never let us down and it already proved to us its reliability, comfort, and economy.

Anyway, regarding the title of this post, I have lived here in South Australia for nine years now, and Fitzgerald Bay is just a 25-minute drive from our house, but I had not been there until today. It is quite a perfect spot for camping, fishing, swimming (if I'm brave enough), and even moongazing or stargazing. When my friends would say they just went camping at Fitzgerald Bay, I thought they were referring to someplace closer to Port Lincoln. (So I told my husband, how come you have never taken me here before? It's beautiful and I'd love to go every day if we can.)

Where is Fitzgerald Bay?

Fitzgerald Bay is located on the Spencer Gulf on the south coast of South Australia. At 16 kilometres along the Point Lowly Road is the T-junction that leads to Fitzgerald Bay. It is a camping ground just outside the city of Whyalla. Apparently, it is the largest beach system in the Spencer Gulf and it offers beautiful white sand and rocky flats. Most popular activities done in this area are bush camping, boating, and fishing. Camping sites and facilities are free to use but locals and visitors are expected to help keep them clean and respect the place and the wildlife.

Yes, the views were amazing! Yes, it is great that he can fix anything. I told him that he is my "John-of-all-trades, master-of-everything."

That is a sweet thing to say about your husband! My Bob was not very handy, he always ended up with extra parts.
