Car manufacturers are always looking for more ways to increase the Unique Selling Points of their vehicles. Audi has recently ramped up its arsenal of cool new unique features that are making people flock to buy the german automobile.

After introducing the world to dynamic turn signals, Audi has now announced a feature to help drivers get rid of the need to carry toll-paying devices or tack them onto the windshield. The Integrated Toll Module (ITM) will allow owners of new Audis to easily pay all sorts of tolls without ever needing to attach any sticker.

The device is concealed inside the rearview mirror and can practically work at not only all corporate and government tolls in the US but also some in Canada and Mexico, with registration open to new and existing toll paying accounts.

The device was a result of a collaboration between the carmaker and Genex Corporation; the company that has also developed Audi’s auto-dimming rearview mirror technology. Upon its release, the device will already cover over 97.8% of all tolls in the United States.

What's more, the Audi MMI system even allows for easy accessibility of the device for change in HOV settings or carpool lane toll requirements. The ITM will most likely be released later this year but the carmaker has been tight lipped about pricing as well as the models that will include the option.

The company has had success in Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) communication before. It collaborated with the city of Las Vegas to introduce a V2I system called traffic light Information. The system uses the gauge cluster to alert the driver if the traffic signal is about to turn red.
