Why being a Pilot is still a dreamjob!
Hey my fellow Steemians and aviation enthusiasts, here is my new blogpost and the first part of:
WHY YOU STILL SHOULD BECOME A PILOT
When reading the newspaper or watching the news, you will be confronted with a lot of downsides coming with this job choice. It is no secret and there are unfortunately several reasons why becoming a Pilot is not anymore the dreamjob for everyone. The market changed a lot and there is a lot of insecurity involved. But that is happening in a lot of branches and my opinion is that it is still a great idea to become a pilot.
So now I start with the Pros of this profession. The last years were really tough for pilots to find a job, but it looks like that this changed now. For example, Boeing predicted that there is a demand of 617,000 new pilots worldwide in the next 20 years from now on. In my opinion, this is an extraordinary outlook!
Pro’s:
• You can always see the sun!
It is rainy and gray due to the heavy cloud layer!? Well no problem! As a pilot, you just fly through the clouds and you will see the sun for 365 days a year! So don’t forget your sunglasses! :D
• An office above the clouds, is always better than a desk job!
In my former job as a sales clerk, I hated it to be stuck at an office table with only artificial light shining on me. So now, I always enjoy, seeing the world from above, even after four years of flying. When flying and seeing the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, I leave everything that bothers me on the ground. So my job really feels like some kind of holidays to me. I totally enjoy night flights. Especially I love to fly over Los Angeles or others big cities at night. It’s so beautiful to see the lights of the city as well as the stars and the moon.

I remember my first flight as a passenger in a plane. This really opened my eyes and I knew what I wanted! Being behind the yoke of a huge Aircraft is an amazing feeling. (Small Aircraft as well as big Aircraft) Always when I push the thrust levers forward, I feel great. Every new takeoff is also a start of a new mission to me. And always after I land safely, I have a great feeling of accomplishment. In my duty as a sightseeing pilot, I can always see the happy faces of my passengers. Then I realize, how special this experience was for them. And this is a great feeling. Sometimes, I fly people who have never flown before in their lives. This makes the job so meaningful!
• It’s an addiction
As Leonardo Da Vinci used to say: ’’Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return’’
It is almost frightening how true this quote is!
When I talk to my pilot friends, it’s always about flying! It’s always about the places where we flew to and other things that happened. It is really contagious.
• Flight training
I am lucky that my parents supported me financially. To get a loan from a bank is really not want you want!
Trust me: you don’t need any extra pressure on top! ;)
Starting off my flight training in the USA was the best idea! I had such an amazing time! Always when I think about my first solo flight in Florida, it blows me away. I remember how great it felt, to be able to manoeuvre an aircraft through the sky, just by myself. I was able to learn flying in a totally different environment, far back from home.
During the training I had to face a lot of challenges. But only with resistance you are growing!
I became much more self disciplined, organised and structured and to be part of a crew with other flight students who had the same goals, was really motivating. We always supported each other in every way.
This was my first part of why you should still become a Pilot. The second is soon to come!
Happy landings my friends and aviation enthusiasts!
ps.: Check out the nice photographs that I took!

Awesome! Thanks!! That makes me happy! :D
good job 👍🏻
Thanks man!
I love your article, so good!!!
You can also become a free-flight pilot - flying a paraglider (or hang glider) foot launched from a hillside. If you buy used equipment and take lessons you could be flying like a bird up to cloudbase for hours at a time for just a few thousand dollars. Check out #paragliding for more info.
As a student pilot, this is also my dream job. To get paid to fly in order to fly at all is what matters to me. You gained a new follower, I hope you keep posting here.
