The breakdown before the fast is important too. An example of a breakdown: Cut out caffeine and liquor 5 days before the fast. Sweets and bread 4 days before. Meat 3 days before. Eat veggies, fruit, grains and nuts 2 days before. Only fruit and veggies the day before and then fast. It helps lessen some of the detox symptoms and makes it easier. Breaking the fast properly is important too. With water fasting you may want to drink diluted juices for a couple days and transition into soft fruits, then cooked veggies and so on. With juice fasting break with soft fruits for a couple days, then cooked veggies and very slowly transition into your normal diet.
