What is a fiberglass pool? A fiberglass pool is an in-ground swimming pool that is manufactured in one piece and comes ready to be installed in the ground or other structure that can support the weight of a complete pool environment. Fiberglass pools come in all shapes and sizes to accommodate most backyard swimming pool projects. There are several manufacturers of fiberglass pools and each offers different products and has its own unique manufacturing process.

Manufacturing and pool properties.

Barrier Reef Fiberglass Pools, a fiberglass pool manufacturer, has a proprietary system that is based on using only the most proven gel coats and vinyl ester resins. Their pools come in one piece and have an average thickness greater than industry standards, which means their pools are built to last. The pool gel coat contains high UV and fade resistant properties to help defend against the harshest climate conditions and to keep the pool looking beautiful.

Fiberglass pool shapes and colors.

There are many models to choose from when researching a fiberglass pool. Over the last decade, the market has greatly expanded and so have the shapes and colors these pools come in. Rectangular, free-form, kidney, plunge, hybrid and spa models allow for a fiberglass pool to be a great addition to any home. Different manufacturers have different approaches to color which can have a dramatic effect on the way your pool looks. Barrier Reef offers seven different “Shimmer” colors. These colors are Ocean, California, Aquamarine, Sandstone, Midnight, Evening Sky and Arctic. Each offers a unique enhancement to the pool water which will be different throughout the day. Another popular option is to add LED lighting, which can also create a unique atmosphere within the pool.
