Trading in the bank from 9am to 2pm
Bangladesh Bank has set a new schedule for bank offices and transactions during the holy month of Ramadan. According to the new timings, the general transaction between the banks and financial institutions will be between 9:30 am to 2:30 pm in the morning.
But the bank officials will have to work from 9am to 4pm.
Like every year, the Ministry of Public Administration has given a new schedule to reduce the working hours of the office court to facilitate iftar in the month of Ramadan. Bangladesh Bank has fixed the schedule of bank offices and transactions in the light of that direction. The directive was sent to the chief executive of the bank on Monday by Offshore Supervision Division of the central bank. The same guidelines will be sent for financial institutions also, said department officials.
It is known that there is a break in the afternoon of Zuhr prayers between 1-15 minutes and 1-30 minutes during the bank transactions. However, during this break, the banks should continue to carry out transactions through internal co-ordination and financial institutions.
Other times of the year, from 10am to 4pm, there are transactions in the bank. Bank officials have to make the office from 10am to 6pm.
In the month of Ramadan, the Bangladesh Bank, like the scheduled bank has reduced the office time to 4pm this year. The transaction will be till 2 pm. During this time the banks will have to complete all types of official work including transaction with Bangladesh Bank. At the end of the month of Ramadan the office schedule will be undone.
