Teaching my son financial responsibility goes wrong-ish

in #banking7 years ago

So my wife had my son open a savings account a few months ago and he deposited $20 of the money he has earned to save for a raining day. It is important for children to learn responsiblity and saving money.

Fast forward today. We open his statement (yes paper can you believe it) and it turns out his savings account for a minor has $5 a month fee. So now his $20 balance is $5.
lol

So like I said it is important to teach our children, DON"T TRUST BANKS! They will keep your money and call it a fee. Buying toys atleast brings satisfaction.
