Barcelona settled for a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Copa del Rey round of 16 tie away to Celta Vigo on Thursday.

Barcelona took the lead in the 15th minute with a classic counter-attacking goal. Andre Gomes carried the ball to the endline before cutting it back to the centre for Jose Arnaiz to turn in with a tidy finish.

But Celta were able equalise in the 31st minute. Iago Aspas hit the underside of the bar with a sliding attempt from six yards, and though the ball somehow stayed out then, it fell to Pione Sisto, who blasted it into the roof of the net from the side of the six-yard box.

On the hour mark, Denis Suarez had a great chance to put Barca ahead again when he got on the end of a cross, but he missed just wide from point-blank range.

Sergio Busquets also struck the post as Barcelona could not take a larger advantage ahead of their home leg.
