Hello guys, since most of my posts are about things you should do on Steemit. Today we are going to talk about the list of what not to do on Steemit. The things you should be watching out for and not doing it on the platform. Let's get started.

#1. Do not beg on Steemit

Do not beg for attention and especially not for upvotes. Begging is degrading. I saw people begging for upvotes or resteemed in the comments. Chances are people won't and will probably flag you for spam. Just create good high-quality content and you will automatically get upvotes.

#2.Do not copy and paste articles on Steemit

maxresdefault.jpg
Copying and pasting someone content and get paid off it, just seems wrong. You might think that you're giving credit to the author but that's not that case. As soon as you copy and paste something you will get detected by Cheetah Bot. The purpose of Cheetah Bot is to detect plagiarism and warn the community that there's a similar content. What worst you could even get downvoted by steemcleaner causing your reputation and payouts to go down.

#3.Do not spam on Steemit

Spamming is not a good idea. Don't go spamming your link on people posts. You will get ignore and even worst get flagged. There are other ways to promote your post. You could look for similar topics and start a conversation with them and create a connection.

#4. Do not hit & run

Money-run.jpg
Some people take the content of their Youtube or their blog and post it on Steemit and then go offline without engaging and voting for anyone content. Consider you're giving a nice reward. People will start seeing that you haven't been rewarding others and only cares about yourself. Make a habit of responding to as many of the comments on your blog posts. This will keep your blog post on the active list for longer and thus gives you a chance at greater content creation rewards.

#5.Do not use the wrong tag

Don't use a tag that has nothing to do your post. For example, I saw a lot of posts in the introduce yourself. Unless you're actually writing a real introduction, you shouldn't use that tag. Choose right tags for your post. Using the wrong tag could set yourself up to potentially get flagged.

#6. Do not flag others for no reason.

Flagging on Steemit works similar to upvoting. There are no rules to tell you what you should flag or shouldn't flag, but the bad reason to flag someone is jealous of the rewards, disagreeing with the author or even revenge.

#7. Do not post anything you want to change in the future.

Editing_course.jpg
Editing of your posts both comments and blog posts close after 7 days which is usually 24 hours after publishing keep in mind that your comments like your blog posts are on the Steem blockchain so every revision you make is stored and will be there forever they cannot be deleted.

Good Post, especially flagging have to stop here and the upvotings of the huge whales for each others...

Yes, they like to support each other.

can i seek your guidance in this respect
buddy! im new here

I have some more advice for everyone.
Don't tell a whale that they are cheating even if they are. I foolishly did this thinking they might listen and do good, I was wrong.
There are many Psychopathic predators here like in our world. They will just destroy your reputation score and hurt your post value.
Never use a loan shark to get steem power they will charge you more than the real banks we all hate.
Use minnowbooster.net if you can not be patient. They call it a lease. They will help you get a good rate , you will not have to give away your password and you will be protected.
If you use loan shark they will charge you 800 percent APR or more.
The most ever charged I have seen on minnowbooster.net is 40 percent APR.
Remember it is a crime in some countries to charge those high loan shark rates. It is called predatory lending.

As well use steembottracker.com if you are going to try and buy upvotes. You can get a good estimate of your return if you take the time to learn it. Make sure you know the owner of the vote bot, I think many of them just use it to steal. Remember that you can get cheated by a up vote bot. You have to consider the curation reward when buying a vote. that costs 25%. I have been cheated by upvote bot and when I tried to confront them they attacked me took away the vote I paid for and ruined my reputation. There is no sheriff on STEEMIT.

What is a whale?

@sspeckeledsheep it is a entity on here that has enought steempower to destroy your reputation for no reason. Just like in life the whales rule the ocean, with the killer whale being the most ferocious of the whales. There are many killer whales here on Steemit. They fight amongst themselves, they will destroy a minnow that they dont like in a moments notice.
There are also some whales that might seem benevolent, but remember that the way they became a whale is by the love of money. AND the love of money is the root of all evil.

A whale can be helpful to you if you kiss the tail end of it, cower to it like a dog to its owner. But remember they will not like you much if you don't keep giving them your steem backed dollars.

A person on steemit with a lot of money invested in steempower.

The big steemit accounts

Oh wow, I didn't know that editing abilities close after 7 days, good to know. And yes, a huge pet peeve of mine is seeing people lazily straight copy and paste news articles without adding any of their own insight.

Yes, you can edit anything before 7 days period. After that, it's forever on the blockchain. So post wisely my friend :)

I'm okay with it being on the blockchain but what if you post a picture with someone and the person who you took the picture with wants that photo to be taken down. It can cause a lot of legal problems if someone was filmed on Dtube and wants to be removed.

That could be a problem. I don’t how they’re going to take it down. I think by flagging they’re able to hide the content.

Matap kapan. Kapan sy di lik

That does not mean that after 7 days the blockchain owns the content, does it? If we post original material on Steemit, it stays being our content, right?

I'm pretty new to Steemit and would like to know if my content will not be stolen by the blockchain.

I'll have to test this, i have an idea that won't work if its true. :(

Really great article on what not to do... but here is my confusion: what is the difference to asking or begging for upvotes that is apparently a no, no and holding a competition asking for exactly the same thing.

Asking and begging is quite similar. If they like you they will upvote you.

Ok cool. So the best way to hide the asking is in the form of a competition! Got it. Thanks man. Have an awesome day!

"Do not beg for attention and especially not for upvotes. Begging is degrading."

"Upvote and Comment below for your chance to win some SBD."

🤔

I hold a contest to give out SBD to my followers that comment on my post. That's not begging. I just to reward people for supporting me.

Sounds quite similar to begging, according to your other comment.

"Asking and begging is quite similar. If they like you they will upvote you."

Something totally acceptable on steemit is hypocrisy. Whenever you see whales fighting they cry about someone "abusing" steemit and in their comments is full of upvote bots. How about just let people do what they want, if they're bad they will lose their reputation and won't make money and will go away.

I definitely don't think giving SBD to the followers through the contest is not begging! I can't wait to be able to do contest and reward them! It's more like rewarding not begging!

Absolutely, 120% agree with you! Especially,

Begging is degrading.

Yes, we come to have relationship using Steemit, and degrading relationship is neither healthy nor long-lasting. As Steemians, we just should post good contents and communicate with each other friendly, as Steemit is not about money.

@sujisyndrome Thanks for agreeing with me. I hope everyone would think like you. Just be friendly and communicate with each other. And help each other grow. I like that :)

Unfortunately @sujisyndrome I have a feeling many might disagree with your last sentence. It isn't about the money for me either, but I think it may be so for many. 😉
Keep on keeping on. 😇

Thanks for your comment, and it would be unfortunate for those who do Steemit only for money, because there is much more than that.
Followed you :)

You are most welcome. I am following you too, but 😂 only in English.

Very good information, it has helped me a lot. Especially since I am something new in this community. And the whole idea is 100% original.

Thank you very much @vaansteam. Good morning

Yes, the whole is yourself and do what you love. And welcome to Steemit.

Thank you informations, this is very useful for me, because I am still new in steemit.

You're very welcome!

Thanks for the lecture
Enlightening as always
