Be An Inspiration To Others

"If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles" Matthew 5:41

There are always two ways to carry out a task: you can either do it unwillingly and complainingly while trying to get away with doing as little as possible, or you can do it joyfully and diligently, thereby accomplishing more than what's expected of you.

If you work according to the first principle you will soon find yourself unpopular with your superiors and colleagues. Even more importantly, you will also be dissatisfied with yourself because you are aware that you are not giving your best. To anyone worth his salt this will be an extremely unsatisfactory state of affairs.

However, if the second approach is your life philosophy, you will find that you not only hold the respect of your superiors and colleagues, but also that your task-however humble it may be has importance. It will provide you with the sense of satisfaction because you have set about a task and completed it joyfully and thoroughly.

You will run into problems if you try to do this on your own and in your own strength, but if you dedicate every aspect of your life to Christ and ask Him to guide everything you do, the strength of the Holy Spirit will soon enable you to undertake your task with a strength and enthusiasm that transcends human understanding.
