Most of us, at some point, have suffered from puffy eyes. It may be after a few (or several) late nights, general pms bloating, eating poorly or a whole host of others conditions. Here I've compiled 7 ways to tackle puffy eyes head on and get your eyes looking and feeling fresh and rested.

1 Freeze Them Out

Putting something cold on your puffy eyes for 10-to-20 minutes will instantly get rid of your puffy eyes. It's actually the cold that reduces the swelling, so there's really no need for you to put tea bags, spoons, fruit or any other gimmicks on your face.

Ways to apply cold items to puffy eyes:

Cold face mask
Cold eye mask
Splash cold water (especially in the morning)
Cold tea bags contain caffeine which also reduces swelling by limiting blood flow
Cold Spoons
Ice Cubes
Ice Roller
Cold Cucumbers, Potatoes & Rosewater also lighten up dark circles.

2 Use Your Fingers

Watch the video to see how to use your fingers to drain out the excess fluid causing puffy eyes. Really ramp up this routine by incorporating your favorite eye creams.

3 Take Care of Your Allergies

Use an antihistamine like Zyrtec or natural antihistamine like Stinging Nettle, Bromelain, Quercetin & Vitamin C to get rid of puffy eyes caused by allergies.

It doesn't matter how many cold items, massages, gallons of water you drink, without getting your allergies under control, the puffy eyes will stay - they may even get worse.

4 Drink More Water

One of the main causes of puffy eyes is water retention, a well hydrated body doesn't tend to hold on to water. Keep a bottle of water nearby so you will always remember to drink it throughout the day, also stay away from water retaining foods such as salty snacks and sodas.

5 Eat Your Diuretics

Diuretics help you flush out excess water weight, reducing bloating around the body, including the face. Some natural diuretic foods are:

Green tea
Coffee
Apple Cider Vinegar
Carrot Juice
Cranberry Juice → Lose 5 Pounds in 7 Days
Dandelion Tea

6 Sleep On Your Back

This could be a game changer for some people, but did you know that sleeping on your back can help eliminate puffy eyes? Sleeping on your back prevents puffy eyes by keeping water from pooling up under your eyes overnight. It's advised that you should also sleep with your head slightly elevated with a pillow to really reap the full benefits.

7 Witch hazel does wonders

Witch hazel is a well known ally in the battle against puffy eyes. Not only does it repair broken skin, its astringent nature working fast at reducing under eye swelling. To apply, simply massage under your eye and let it soak in for a minute or two before rinsing well.
Just be aware that you do not want to get this into your eyes, trust me, you will have a lot more problems than puffy eyes if you do. So rinse well, and rinse again to ensure complete removal.

Hope that helps; here's to perky, bright well rested eyes!
