A beautiful Sunday at the Jacks Fork River
After several bleak and dreary weeks, the sun finally decided to make an appearance this weekend! Although it was windy and a bit chilly today, we drove down to the river to soak up some sunshine and get out of the house.
The river was so gorgeous today! The recent rainfall has caused the water to rise, and I absolutely cannot wait to get out there with my kayak!!!
I haven’t posted in a few weeks because we’ve more or less been stuck in a giant Petri dish in our house. Our two daughters and I have been through strep throat, the flu, and pneumonia. Luckily, @jasonrussell hasn’t come down with the “man-flu” ;)
My brother and his fiancé went camping over the weekend and invited us out to spend some time at the river. We were only there for a couple of hours, but I’m so glad that we left the house for some much-needed fresh air and sunshine!

It was super refreshing to get out of the house to see some beautiful scenery and enjoy the sunshine! It’s almost adventure season again, so I’m sure we will be out and about again very soon!
This river looks like rivers that we have in Switzerland. The water is clean and the color is beautiful.
I'm sorry to hear that you went through some health issues. It must be annoying to have sick kids at home as well. You deserved such a beautiful day after all :) Your photos are nice and it looks like you had a lot of fun!

We have 3 rivers in our area and they are some of the cleanest and most pristine in the country! We are so lucky to be so close. We were so glad to get out and enjoy it after being cooped up!

What an amazing way to get over the cabin fever of being cooped up in the house. The river looks amazing and im sure that fresh air will all do you a world of good. I wouldn't say no to a day of hiking and ending off soaking my aches in the river :)
Nature time is my therapy time! :) I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to swim again. It’s going to be mildly cold for another month or two and I’m ready for spring/summer adventures!

I'm so glad to hear that your house is once well again, why do men always escape it? And if they don't, I am sick at the same time and only one of us is allowed to be sick. (not me obviously! LOL)

Thanks! I’ve been trying to make a better effort to take videos when we go out :) The river is looking great right now. I plan on getting my kayak out there ASAP!!!
I'm envious of your kayak time. Mine hangs in the rafters of the garage gathering dust and I'm hoping that someday my grandkids will want to use it. I can't wait to hear about your river adventures!
You should dust it off and go paddle around when it gets warmer! Do you have any rivers or lakes in your area? I hope your grandkids get some use out of it too! :)
I live on a river, but because of my MS I am no longer able to walk. If I was to get into a kayak it would take 10 men and a boy to get me back out of it! 😃. I don't have many regrets, but not being able to hold a kayak paddle is one of them!

What a nice thing to say! I'm okay with it, and manage quite well living on my own. I learned early on that anytime I started feeling sorry for myself all I had to do was look around and there were so many others who had so much more to deal with than I did. There are always reminders to get over myself! My husband died two years ago from cancer and most all of the pictures that I post were taken from all the traveling that we did together. He was a champ when it came to loading and unloading my mobility scooter and insisting that I get out and enjoy the world. I miss him terribly.

I’m sure you are thankful for all of the photos and memories, but sometimes nothing can fill a hole in our hearts with a loss like that. OMG look at the amazing color of the water! That is sweet. Plus it is not frozen like ours! Oh yeah I cant wait for kayaking time!!
I guess I should be thankful that everything isn’t frozen! And yes, the colors in the river are downright gorgeous! These are just phone pictures and I didn’t edit them at all.
I can’t wait to go kayaking! One of these days, Jason and I want to go kayaking on the lakes and go camping!
