A merging of bedini and whimshurst...

in #bedini7 years ago

I'd been stewing on the idea of merging a wimshurst electrostatic apparatus with a bedini SG type monopole energizer.

The only way it makes sense to do such is if one accounts for what I term the "relative potential source", by which I mean the ability to put source charge in particular format so that it is Additive during discharge instead of solely Subtractive to the system.

The RPS is a means of using batteries to do work and extend the run time between needing to charge up the sources, with the extended run time usually being 4x as long or so as just using enough battery source to be drained Dead.

The catch is that to setup an RPS you need Double the number of batteries that would otherwise be needed to run the system for a single rundown of the source charge.

However what happens if we bring in the use of the wimshurst apparatus on the same axle as the monopole is sitting on? Technically we'd need two monopoles so that one can be spun in one direction and the Other spun in the opposite direction. Each monopole would hold an acrylic disk of the wimshurst on one side of its rotor so that the disks backs can be made close to each other while spinning. (as typical wimshurst apparatus are built.)

The main difference would be instead of driving it by hand via belts, the monopole could be setup to spin the disks. The monopole batteries would be setup in a RPS config so that as it Ran down the series stack, the parallel stack would Charge up, and allow for battery swapping to prolong the run time. Theres an additional output from the monopole at the collector compression diode that can be used to produce still more power into a capacity for periodic discharge to a load.

The series stack is then the part of the RPS that discharges to run the whole setup. This is where the output from the wimshurst colocated on the monopoles axles plays into the system. Because in addition to the RPS driving the monopole rotors, charging the parallel battery bank up and producing power to a load, we now also have the kvdc that the wimshurst outputs to its leyden jars, which when discharged, if sent thru stepdown apparatus perhaps like an ignition coil used in reverse, its output might be used to keep topping off the Series stacks charge potential, specially if additional capacity is setup over the Series stack to be able to absord that discharge and let that voltage be made use of prior to then drawing directly on the series stacks current reservoir.

... course all that stated, I still feel like I'm not fully accounting for the idea of teslas oscillating shuttle circuit... that particular contexts ideal being to dephase the interaction in time mechanically or electrically so that whats drawn from the source during one part of the cycle is returned during the next...

I'll keep stewing and see if I get to a point where I feel like building the idea.... but wanted to share in case it might trigger anyone else to build something... :)

Cheers!
