Wikingowie z historii znani są jako dzicy nieokrzesani brutalni wojownicy których bali się wszyscy za czasów średniowiecza. Napadali na pobliskie przybrzeżne wioski, osady, na ogół nie znali litości na morzu nie brali jeńców a ich łodzie były perfekcyjnie skonstrułowane a ich trasy wodne byly od samych Wysp Brytyjskkich po Półwysep Iberyjski!

Vikings from history are known as wild, crude brutal warriors who were all afraid of the Middle Ages. They attacked nearby coastal villages, settlements, they generally did not know mercy at sea, they did not take prisoners and their boats were perfectly constructed and their water routes were from the British Isles to the Iberian Peninsula!

Byli oni także miłośnikami napojów wyskokowych i gdy tylko była okazja nie oszczędzali sobie tych trunków. Jedne z bardziej hucznych imprez odbywały się poczas święta przesilenia letniego i zimowego. Jednakże nie ma co się im dziwić gdyż przykład czerpali od samego Boga wojny, zwycięstwa a nawet świata! Najważniejszego z Bogów Odyna który codziennie odwiedzał boginię Sagę aby sączyć z nią wino godzinami... ten to miał dobrze... Jak na władce przystało pouczał własnych wojowników aby nie nadużywali alkoholu ale sam sobie nigdy nie odmawiał tej przyjemności. =)

They were also lovers of extreme drinks and whenever they had the opportunity, they did not spare themselves for these beverages. One of the more pompous events took place during the solstice of summer and winter. However, it is not surprising that they have drawn from God the war, victory and even the world! The most important god, Odin, who visited the goddess Saga every day to drink vine with her for hours... lucky motherf&er... As the ruler had instructed his own warriors not to abuse alcohol, but he himself never refused this pleasure. =)

Odyn oczywiście zabraniał im pić większych dawek alkoholu ponieważ każdy po śmierci (w boju oczywiście) dostanie nieskończoną ilość litrów piwa! Legenda głosi że Odyn po bitwie wysyła na ziemie Walkirie, dziewicze wojowniczki które zbierają ich oręż z pól bitewnych a ich samych do niesamowitej Walhalli. Tam już mogą poić się miodem i napojem wspaniałości. Oczywiście picie nie było łatwe w tych czasach, nie było ekskluzywnych kufli lecz bydlęce rogi z których picie było nielada sztuką! Niedość że rogu nie dało sie postawić na stole to przechylenie go by się napić wymagało odpowieniego kąta! Przechylony za bardzo wylewał się niczym morska fala... Ze względu na wysokie ceny wina, spożywali głownie piwo jęczmienne i to nie byle jakie bo zwykle moc wachała się od 8-10% =) Piły je nawet dzieci.
Jak to Wikingowie mawiali :

Zazwyczaj pijam piwo, wodę pijam, kiedy piwa nie ma...

Odin, of course, forbade them to drink larger doses of alcohol because everyone after death (in battle, of course) will get an infinite amount of liters of beer! Legend has it that Odin after the battle sends to the Valkyries, virgin warriors who gather their weapons from the battlefields and their very same to the amazing Walhalla. There, they can drink honey and the drink of greatness. Of course, drinking was not easy at these times, there were no exclusive mugs but cattle horns from which drinking was quite an art! Not enough that the corner could not be put on the table, tipping it down to drink would require a proper angle! Tilted too much poured out like a sea wave ... Because of the high prices of wine, they mostly consumed barley beer and it was not anyhow because usually the power flowed from 8-10% =) Even children were drinking them.
