[Besiege] Worth the buy?

About the game:
Besiege, a video game first released on Steam in 2015, is well known indie building/physics/sandbox game. Basically you have a list of parts, such as blocks, grabbers, wheels, wings, flamethrowers, etc, and you need to build a machine that accomplishes some objective, usually killing some knights or destroying some building/castle. There is a newly released multiplayer mode, so you can battle other players, or import cool builds from the workshop, or download a cool racetrack and race some friends... basically standard steam workshop stuff. It is an easily recognizable game because of its art style/lack thereof, and because it is so cheap, going down to ~6 dollars on sale.

So onto the question: is it worth the buy?
to answer that question, we need to discuss the different aspects of the game:

The graphics:
are completely adequate. The scenery is non-existent for the single-player levels, and could really use a visual update, but it also really cuts down on performance issues.

The gameplay: It can take a decent amount of intense thought if one desires to complete challenges in fun ways, but at the same time it hardly ever "forces" you to do anything more than build a simple car with some grabbers or some flamethrowers on it. It is a sandbox that does not challenge you to use it. That is its biggest flaw.

The multiplayer: It works, that's all I can say about it.

Overall, there isn't too much to much to say about it: it is as pure of a building sandbox as you can get. It gives you the tools to build stuff but no motivation to do so if you don't bring the motivation yourself. Overall, I'd recommend the game on sale as worthwhile for the price, but go in knowing that it does not pull you in immensely or offer great gameplay, but rather it is a platform for your imagination.

Worth the buy, on sale. It's cheap. don't expect much.
