S.O.A.P. Week One
Scripture is a meaningful part of life and S.O.A.P. can help us observe and apply it to our lives. S.O.A.P. stands for, S for scripture, O for observation, A for application, and P for prayer. S.O.A.P. can be described as an easier way to do at home bible study. If you don't feel like following along to my posts you can find books that are specially made for guiding you on how to do it. some items that you may need to follow along are a bible, notebook, pens, and pencils.
Step One: Scripture
The scripture we will be working on is John 3:16-17. "16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.".
Step Two: Observation
In this verse we can observe that God is saying that we believe in Jesus we will be granted the joy of having eternal life with Him in Heaven. we can also see that God is saying He did not send His Son to condemn us but to save us and show us how to get to Heaven. Just by observing these two things we can make the assumption that God loves us and is willing to do anything for us because of this reason.
Step Three: Application
How are we able to apply this to our lives? We can apply it by saying we know that if we believe in Jesus we will go to Heaven. Another way to apply it is accepting that Jesus was sent here to help us. These are just two ways to apply it to our lives. If you see any other ways to apply it to our lives please feel free to post them in the comments down below.
Step Four: Prayer
This does not require a lengthy prayer that is five minutes long it could just be short if you would like. A sample prayer would be
"Dear God, please help me remember everyday that your son Jesus Christ came to earth to save me and not condemn me. Amen"
These post will be weekly on every Saturday, have a nice Saturday!
Hi. @athenammb. Reading the Bible applying the S: OA: P methodology is important to see the benefit of reading.
I just finished reading Job and in turn listening to Christopher R. Mattix. In all the audio of the book study of Job, applicability is sought. I have written, observed and analyzed what was read and said by Mattix.
I learned of the divine retribution and if I am not mistaken what you mentioned also talks about the retribution. It is in heaven and only faith will set us free.
I do not represent any religion, only every day I am a bible user and with it I have achieved peace. Thanks for the post.-
No problem, I hope you read the next one too.
