May 31 Humble Reminders

"Those who walk in pride he is able to humble." Daniel 4:37

Down deep we know that everything we have has been given to us. We didn't ask to be born into a specific family or our place of birth or native language. We may have worked hard growing up but our drive and wisdom was given to us by our Creator. Even knowing this, we often take a lot of credit for the things God has given. We take pride in our work, advertise our abilities and display our accomplishment but we often forget or overlook the fact that all power, all wisdom and all authority come from above. When we take credit, we deny God's generosity. God will undo our pride, His love will correct us. Remind yourself each day that your life is all about grace. It'll keep you humble and open God's arms to you. It will ground you in the truth.
