In the case that Biden doesn't withdraw, at least so far the ground to make up from the debate is basically statistically negligible in the head to head.

I don't think that will be reassuring to people concerned about Biden's ability to campaign, but it isn't as dire as the discourse sounds.

Basically most people already had these expectations about Biden and Trump. We saw that in the pre-debate surveys.
