International Day of the Girl Child

The theme of this year's International day of the girl child is "With Her: A Skilled Workforce"

The focus this year is on the role everyone can play to educate the girl child.
This education is not limited to academic works. It includes learning craft, skill and generally inspiring girls to dream and achieve their dreams.

On this note, everyone is called upon today, to encourage sisters, nieces, friends, cousins to go out and excel. They can be Engineers, scientists, doctors, lawyers, pilots, designers etc. We should let them know that impossibility does not exist and the sky is large enough for them to spread their wings and fly.

Be a hero/heroine for a girl child today. Save a girl from abuse, sexual violence, early marriage etc. Today is a day we remind ourselves of the duty we owe the girl child.

We owe them a duty to teach, befriend, guide and protect them from violence of any kind.
The girl child should be empowered by family and friends to lead the life of her dreams.
He education and empowerment does not end in the kitchen. It continues and spreads to children, siblings, friends, family and continues on to generations to come. The girl child is an embodiment of endless possibility, just point the positive way to her.

An educated and empowered girl child would become a skilled woman who is financially independent and is able to support her family in all the ways that count.

Let us inspire girls all over the world to innovate and take charge of the future.
