Diseases are a very common problem in Venezuela. Millions of people affected by genetic conditions, but also guilty of smoking and infections.

Do you know the most common respiratory diseases? It is likely that you are not taking adequate preventive measures

-Asthma
It is a chronic disease caused by a constant inflammation in the respiratory tract. Some symptoms include pulmonary spasms, wheezing and shortness of breath. Allergies, infections and pollution can cause asthma attacks.

This condition usually begins in childhood and it is necessary to treat it immediately before the first signs, otherwise they can worsen and become fatal.

Although there is no definitive cure, medical advances have allowed this disease to be manageable.

  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Worldwide, COPD is in 4th place in mortality. In our country, they are located between the 4th and the 6th place.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is a term used to identify various respiratory diseases that make it impossible to exhale normally. The symptoms can be confused with gradual aging, since it can take years to develop.

This condition is usually caused by smoking, genetic factors and pollution.

  • Bronchitis
It is divided into acute and chronic bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis is a type of COPD that is emphasized by an equally chronic cough. On the other hand, acute bronchitis is caused by a virus.

In both cases, the mucous membrane in the lungs becomes inflamed in the bronchial passage. This causes swelling that prevents the passage of air to the lungs. To treat it, the procedure must be consistent and constant.

-Emphysema
This disease is another type of COPD. The most common cause is smoking and those with this condition have problems when exhaling air from the lungs.

Emphysema evolves slowly as the years go by and there is no cure. Cigarette smoke damages the air sacs of the lungs to a point where they can not regenerate on their own; therefore, quitting reduces the rate of progression.

-Lung cancer
Of all malignant tumors, lung cancer is the leading cause of death in Mexico. Since it has the potential to develop anywhere in the lungs, it is difficult to detect.

Tumors interfere with the regular function of the lungs, although symptoms may take years to appear; some of them are: chronic cough, changes in the voice, raspy breathing and coughing blood, among others.

-Pneumonia
This disease is caused by an infection in the lung sacs. The infection can be caused by a bacteria, virus or fungus.

Most people can recover within a period of 1 to 3 weeks, but there are also cases that take many years to recover. Some symptoms are: fever, cough, chills and trouble breathing.

To prevent it, it is suggested to wash your hands frequently, to prevent the flu from becoming more severe or to receive the vaccine

cuada.

-Allergies
This condition is one of the most frequent chronic problems in the world. They occur when the immune system confuses a common substance as an invader. The system reacts excessively and releases histamine, which causes the allergic reaction. The main culprits of these reactions are pollen, dust, food, animal pickets, drugs and latex.
