Gone Fishin'

That's exactly where this bald eagle was heading... off to do a little fishing, but not in the usual way.

A fishing boat had just pulled into the marina with an open bait container on deck!

The eagle took off and flew in a big circle.

before diving back into the marina, blowing right through this stop sign...

only to perch again on a pole overlooking the boat, checking for people

Finally landing and making off with a fish!

Back home at the nest with dinner! Do you see the second eagle?

Wow! Excellent shots and story! thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much, glad you liked it! :)

Stop! Thief! What a great catch, for you and the eagle! :)

I spy the other eagle, right under the branch!

Thanks so much... good eye spotting the other eagle!

Wow, stunning, you got a new follower!

Thanks @daveks! I was already following you, so that's great.

Amazing photos and story @keithboone! That first photo is really stunning! I love the feather flex :) I'll bet the eagle hates the metal coated poles ;)

Thank you @stanleyparker! That first shot is my fav because of the wing shape, and also the talons. I'm sure you're right about the metal covered pole.

That's one of the best eagle photos I've seen! Great timing and lighting; kudos :)

I should have mentioned somewhere in the post that this is in Ucluelet.

We are blessed with eagles everywhere, aren't we? ;)

If you caught a bird, then do not hold it in a cage, do not make it want to fly away from you, but could not. And make it so that she could fly away, but she did not want to.

Amazing shots!!

Thank you very much!

Very cool photos. It had to be exciting to capture the eagle fishing.

Thank you! Yes, it was amazing! :)
