Birds
A Nightengale was out singing one night
(they sing so pretty at night)
I think the Oriole had taken flight to places unknown
The Morning Dove was ready to chirp in the
Morning’s first light
The Robin was out Dancing
In the Garden like they like to do
So, I said “Nightengale, why the song?”
The Nightengale said
“So the Oriole can do its thing
And the Robin can Dance to the tune
And the Sun can rise tomorrow
And the Dove in the Morning
Can play and chime in too.
And because you cannot fly like we can
So we have no choice but to get you wings
By making an Angel out of you -
Like the chirping, May?”
So I said I do.
Now I am apparently married
To some birds.
