5 Years of Bitcoin Filmmaking
5 years ago, on September 6, 2012, we premiered our very first Bitcoin film at Berlin's legendary Room 77, the world's first brick-and-mortar store that accepts Bitcoin.
We showed a two minute animation that explains Bitcoin for Germany's #1 Bitcoin marketplace, Bitcoin.de. Its main protagonists are Dr. Münzmacher (that means 'Coinmaker' in German) and his sidekick, Herrmann, the Robot.
Dr. Münzmacher speaks English viz a hewy Görman akzent and explains Bitcoin in a typical German way. I wrote the script and directed the film and also spoke the characters (usually my accent isn't that heavy!). The animation was made by Vijay Dhanajeyan from Bangalore, the music by Claus Quidde from Berlin.
As Bitcoin.de uses the slogan "Bitcoin marketplace - made in Germany" we suggested to play with German stereotypes and make fun of ourselves, and they had enough humour to let us do this.
It was the first film we ever made for a crypto client. Since then we have created more than 30 films for all kinds of Bitcoin, crypto and blockchain start-ups, so we somehow became specialised in this.
Most people even think we chose our name Bitfilm because we are a Bitcoin film company, but we have been using this name since 1999, ten years before Bitcoin came into existence.
After that short movie screening, people stayed for the Bitcoin Stammtisch, a monthly meetup for Bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts, which happens every first Thursday of the month at Room 77 - which is today.
So if you are in Berlin, we might see each other there tonight!

By the way: there is one grave mistake in the movie. Can you spot it? I pay a beer at Room 77 for the first one who discovers it! Please use the comments for it!
Bitcoin.de was the place where I bought my first Bitcoin two and a half years ago. Your video was one of the first I watched about bitcoin. Really cool video, and thanks for sharing the history about creating your awesome videos.
awesome
Is the error where Dr. Munzmacher says, "There can never be bitcoin deflation..." ?
He says "Bitcoin INflation and that is correct"
At 00:51 it sounds like he's saying, "there can never be bitcoin DEflation." Is that just the accent causing me to hear it wrong?
Sorry for my mumbling, it should be INflation.
Kind time of the day, take a little time🙏. I want to tell you about the new ATB coins, it is very, very promising based on its parameters. It will revolutionize the world of crypto-currency. Its launch is scheduled for September 1, 2017. You can buy it today at an affordable price of 1.5 $ beforehand to buy it before the start of trading on the stock exchange. Where the price will naturally be higher than the purchase price plus a purchase bonus. In general, you decide. Regarding the grave mistake "it's very cheap to send Bitcoin from one part of the world to another" LOL, not true anymore..
That, and that the coins aren't really lost when my computer crashes...
Despite the higher fees, it's still much cheaper to send bitcoin internationally than using banks.
But you're right with number two. You need to back up your keys and definitely not store your Bitcoins on somebody else's server. Well, that was in 2012 and we learned something in the meantime.
