Time travel has been the subject of stories over the years. The thought of seeing the dinosaurs or Romans has always appealed to us as humans. Going back is more appealing than going forward. The future is scary, what could happen, are we going to be in good health and will our loved ones still be around? We know they were there in the past but what about the future. Everything we do is always more enjoyable with our families and loved ones around us.

In the past we have an idea of what to expect from drawings and evidence found but what about the future? Do you really want to know, most people wouldn’t. Why? Do we not like to see our mistakes and dwell on them and dream of how things could be different? Do we think that would be a distraction and stop us from an opportunity that could be in front of us? Or do we regret things we have done and wish we behaved differently with hindsight.

Hindsight is strange. If we look at the past and assess it and learn from our mistakes we can move forward in a better position to make better decisions. Dwell on it too much and we become blinded and focus on the negatives, after all, no one says in hindsight I wouldn’t have made that great decision. We look back at negatives and wish things were different but how different would they have been. How much change in your place right now would a small piece of advice 5 years ago make? Would you have not met your wife? Would you have met her earlier? Would you tell your mum you loved her more before she passed?

5 years is a small-time period, 60 months. A baby is born and joins a school. That’s all that can happen in 5 years in their life. That’s it. Done. What about you, where were you 5 years ago and what could you have done differently?
