Many in the world of Crypto currency are currently somewhat irritated. The current news in the context of Bitcoin & Co. suggests more bullish signals and a rise in prices. But for days the Bitcoin course has fallen, although the Gehypte Consensus conference is a complete success.
The event not only seems to be a complete success, but, according to Tom Lee of Fundstrat, is an important indicator when it comes to a price forecast. As the "Google Trends" tweet shows, interest has developed strongly over the years.

Consensus Conference 2015
But how did the change in the respective crypto year compare? Above all, when a price increase began after the consensus conference of each year. First we look at the year 2015. The conference was held in New York from the 7th to the 10th of September 2015. The participants at that time included sizes such as PayPal, Infosys, IBM, various mainstream media and other companies. According to Coindesk, the event attended around 400 participants. As can be seen from the price chart of 2015, there was a loss of course shortly after the conference. Only weeks after the conference, the Bitcoin prize was able to gain value. At the end of the article you will find an overview comparing the consensus years.

Consensus Conference 2016
The second consensus conference was held in the year 2016 in May (02-04.05.2016). The statistics on the conference could already be seen in the second year. The number of participants increased from 400 to over 1,400 participants. In the 2nd Consensus conference, there were over 125 speakers, 50 sponsors, 50 media partners from 40 different countries. Among the speakers were greats such as Gavin Andresen and Chris Larsen. The respective speakers came from different companies. From visas to Harvard to the Governor of Delaware. A complete overview of the participants can be viewed at this link.
Interestingly, in the year 2016 a similar picture emerges, as in 2015. In the days following the conference there was a slight increase in the price, but there was a direct strong increase. As in the previous year, the prize was able to record noteworthy profits only weeks after the conference.

Consensus Conference 2017
The third consensus conference was held in New York from 22 to 24 May 2017. Over 2700 participants, 200 speakers, 75 sponsors and 50 media partners were part of the Blockchain event of the year. Brian Armstrong (CEO of Coinbase), Peter Smith and many others were among the speakers. All other data about the event from the year 2017 can be viewed here. At the time of the event there was also a slight increase, but the extreme thrust remained. As you can also find in the chart, the bitcoin price could rise sharply only weeks after the consensus conference.

The bitcoin price has not risen during the conference. It seems that the event will be noticeable only weeks later at the bitcoin price. We also think that the consensus conference could well be seen as an indicator. The number of participants reflects the direct hype of the Kryptowährungen.
The consensus event 2018 is really a highlight, as the number of participants is estimated at around 8,000. Almost every media platform reports on the Blockchain event. There are many live streams, Lamborghinis adorn the entrance and it seems to be more of a party than a "crypto-nerd-event". Here is a complete comparison of the consensus conferences from 2015 to 2017:
