[Bitcoin Munich Meetup] The Great Altcoin Debate (also ICOs) + Austrian Economics + Bitcoin Trading, w/ Tone Vays & Aaron Koenig, Tuesday Sep 19 at WERK1
We welcome Tone Vays and Aaron Koenig in Munich — two legends of the space that we're extremely happy to have on this date!
Our guests will give talks about their main fields of activity. We'll learn about the Austrian School of Economics, which has seen a significant revival with the emergence of Bitcoin, and about certain intricacies of Bitcoin trading, its price history and the actual impact on the global economy it may already have.
And while Tone and Aaron share very similar political views as big proponents of economic and social liberty, they have very different opinions on the sense or nonsense of various altcoins. So let's seize this opportunity and dig a little bit deeper here in the second part of the evening. Both speakers are independently travelling through Europe for conferences and meetups, but nowhere else they'll be confronted with each other like here in Munich. :)
Target Audience: The first part with our guests' talks may appeal to a general audience, serving as good overviews about the economics and trading aspects of crypto-currencies. The second part with the discussion may require some acquired familiarity with the space.

Tone Vays worked on Wall Street for almost 10 years and was a VP at JP Morgan Chase. His expertise is in Economic Trends, Trading and Risk Analysis. Since the Bitcoin virus bit him, he has become a highly prolific blogger and vlogger on this topic (most notable and relevant in tonight's context his "CryptoScam" series). He is also contributor to the WorldCryptoNetwork, and has gained quite a reputation and following as one of the most infamous and feared Bitcoin Maximalists. Very well then, so let us sheeple gather on Mount Stupid and listen to the sermon of the prophet, shall he lead us on the right path again! (Internal memo: should we use a different picture of him? Uh no, we probably shouldn't.)
Aaron Koenig is an entrepreneur, consultant, writer and film producer. He's been active in the crypto-currency space since 2011 and is well-known especially in the German-speaking community. His company Bitfilm creates short commercial films for clients, most of them Bitcoin and Blockchain startups. He is organizing events and meetups, and has been a speaker and panelist at numerous conferences. Aaron is the author of the books A Beginner's Guide to Bitcoin and Austrian Economics and Cryptocoins - Investing in Digital Currencies. That's why he is all supportive of currency competition also in the crypto space.
Thorsten Weigl will be our moderator tonight. He is a Digital Asset Investor, Entrepreneur, co-founder of Domainmarkt.de – a leading European domain name exchange –, Blogger, and active in our Munich community since he discovered Bitcoin in 2011. Thorsten is also working with Professor Sandner from the Frankfurt School of Finance on methods to value Digital Assets.
