Alternative Investment: VeriCoin Price has GONE up 6x!!

In this post I just want to briefly touch on some other investments I made outside of STEEMIT in the crypto space. A few months ago I was looking for tokens that could be easily mined, specifically using CPU's. I came to the conclusion that mining certain tokens could potentially be a lucrative side gig. Watching a number of videos and reading several posts about the profitability mining various tokens, I was convinced that it would be a good idea. However, I didn't have the space or the extra money at the time to buy a decent mining setup. I live in Cali so electricity might be a issue as well. I've dabbled with investing in genesis mining (quite a bit actually) for awhile, but I also wanted to see if I could find a token that could be easily mined on a desktop or laptop. That's when I began searching for CPU minable tokens on coin market cap. I stumbled upon VeriCoin, a extremely easy CPU minable token that offers in-wallet mining and staking options.

First thing I wanted to do is see if the project was active and so I searched if they had a active slack page and sure enough they did. At the time, they had just published a new road map, and it seemed as though the project had just gained a significant amount of funding too. So after sifting through all the recent updates, and getting more information about the tech, I decided to download the software.It was really easy to set up the in-wallet miner, literally took me less than 10 minutes to set up. What is Vericoin (VRC) and Verium (VRM)?

• VRC & VRM are the first dual blockchain system. A huge part of it is economic long term stability but I'm sure there are more technical and security reasons as well.

• Vericoin is the currency that's listed on exchanges, you can stake and earn interest on the coin all while you help secure the network and it's easily and quickly spendable.

• Verium is the commodity that is CPU mined, earned VRM block rewards (VRC in the future) and is thought of as a store of value.

• These two protocols PoST and PoWT will eventually be brought together via auxiliary merged mining where VeriCoin will accept Verium blocks and Verium miners will eventually get paid in BOTH Verium (VRM) and VeriCoin (VRC). Having both protocols running together will also SIGNIFICANTLY decrease vectors of attack further enhancing security.

What you can expect while mining

• Most importantly, it will speed up VeriCoin's transaction times as more miners mine Verium's blocks. (Decreasing Verium's Proof of Work Time block-times). Which can take VeriCoin's current 1 minute transaction time to ~30 seconds or theoretically even less. Verium's variable block-time also means auto block size scalability.

• Be patient and let your laptop or desktop do the work.

Again I know people are all about STEEMIT ( me too) but it's definitely good to look into other alts that show potential. Here's a video I made two months ago, since then the price has going up ~ 6X!
