WARNING: DISCORD AS BAD AS #SLACK FOR ICO ETH SPAMMERS
It appears that Discord is as bad as #slack when it comes to potential spammers.
Why?
Usernames AKA Nicknames are Case Sensitive.
So why is this a problem?
Two different users can have the same name.
If @bob (lowercase b) were to use the same avatar as a forum official named @Bob (uppercase B), then @bob could post a spam ETH address to unsuspecting users who think @bob is official.
The usernames are suffixed with a #hash number to make them unique, however, this hash identification number is not easily visible in the feed. You need to click on the username to confirm you have the correct user.
Also, Discord uses a DM (Direct Message) system, where spammers can send their garbage.
The DM's can be switched off, however, this turns off ALL DM's, so if you want to talk to other users privately, you can't.
Many ICO's are now moving to Discord thinking it is better than Slack for spam attacks. It ain't.
Telegram has it's share of problems too.
It would be a shame if people had to only rely on Twitter and Facebook.
Sorry @bob on steemit for the spam by using your username as an example in this post.
