When looking at the current situation it is important to remember that bitcoin and other alt coins have so far made minimal impact on the population at large. Recent ardicles in the media has meant that there is some awareness of the word 'bitcoin' and 'cryptocurrency' but very limited practical use or experience of it capabilities.

If we are to move towards a situation of cryptocurrency singularity, as posited in this article, cryptocurrencies need to be seen not only as a more effective store of value than national currencies but also as a way to bring about changes in society and how we interact with one another.
