RE: Could Hashgraph be used to make Bitcoin perfect?

in #bitcoin6 years ago

What about the coins being backed by bitcoin? We have already seen bitcoin be hoarded digitally like gold has been through out history.

Also I wanted to ask what your thoughts on Leemon Baird wanting to make a free internet with free outlets for people to make transactions share ideas etc. but instead of making this software open source, he has patented it.

Others claim that this is a centralized idea. Corporations will be in control as they are the controlling members on the board. This idea seems to solve some of bitcoins flaws like energy consumption and transaction speed, but absence of third party involvement and central idea makers is a let down.

Sorry to be so slow to reply. I took a 3 year gap from looking at anything relating to crypto. In the meantime Hashgraph has developed in leaps and bounds. My arguments against Bitcoin remain. It continues to be used as a store of value, but putting value into a storage medium that does nothing with that value seems a waste to me. There are countless problems in the world that need fixing. Progress fixing them requires investment. Rather than put spare value into Bitcoin in cold storage it would be better to invest in worthy projects. The Hashgraph team seem to be making promising progress so I am investigating Hedera and HBAR in greater depth.
