Pledgecamp ICO review - Crowdfunding Made Better

Lets begin by asking a question – what does Pledge camp do? Well, Pledgecamp plans to solve the issue of mistrust in crowdfunding.

What is the most exciting thing about Pledgecamp? Its Team of advisors and partnership with MetaLab are the more exciting thing about this project. It has Randi Zuckerberg as an advisor for the project who was also the creator of Facebook Live. Now since her last name is Zuckerbergh, I do also want to highlight that she is Mark Zuckerbergh’s sister. She is a Harvard graduate and also joined Facebook as employee number 12. Below is her marketing career at Facebook between 2005 and 2011 period, before she decided to move out of her brothers company and do something of her own. Second advisor on the team is Matt Curcio who is also known is the industry for her position as Vice President – Data at Ripple, San Francisco Bay Area office. There are ofcourse other advisors who all are well respected in the industry, however Randi Zuckerberg and Matt Curcio are the biggest name any project has ever got to showcase to investors. Hence, this project becomes important to keep an eye on.

Next, let us talk about why such investors ended up selecting Pledgecamp as the ICO project. Ofcourse, they could have advised any project and people would have welcomed them for sure. And I found the answer in one of the interviews conducted by Fox News, and she said the below reasons – (i) she has backed the CEO in past in other projects and trust his capability. (ii) She is excited about the crowdfunding space and she believes that it is the basic application for blockchain.

Pledgecamp is the next generation of crowdfunding platform. However, there is an accountability problem in crowdfunding platforms of today. The CEO said upto 85 % of the crowdfunding projects delay or do not deliver at al. However, combining crowdfunding with smart contracts and escrow services that will allow two people on the internet to follow trust in the space. Hence, accountability is created in Pledgecamp platform.

One more interesting thing I found about the project was the partnership with design company for UI / UX and the Medium announcement by the CEO and details of the engagement with photographs. Below is the link to study more about the association with MetaLab. Why is this a big deal? it is a big deal because MetaLab is a well respected UX design firm with a proven record of success with clients such as Coinbase, Slack, and Oculus. The article says the Eddie (President), Sam (CTO), and Darryl (UX Designer) made the trip out to Vancouver, Canada for several days of intensive collaboration around designing the Pledgecamp platform. They were joined by a team of eight on-site and virtual MetaLab designers too.
