Although, I embrace the statement since I am against all regulations in any form, but I cannot stop to wonder why he would say this since the whole idea with cryptocurrencies is to get rid of communist central banks.

Here is exactly what he said:

"With anything that's new, people have great expectations and also great uncertainty. Right now, we think that – especially as far as bitcoins and cryptocurrencies are concerned – we don't think the technology is mature for our consideration."

What do you guys think about this?

It's cute of them to think that they can regulate Bitcoin.

right, but they can probably ban some exchanges and start hunting down people who have purchased from those exchanges, who knows...

We need all the hope we can garner. Maybe these un-elected idiots are starting to realize that they are part of the human race, and we are not doing very well. Wonder what their true motivation is for the current "hands off" . Thank you for this thoughtful post.

I don't blame them. They have spend their whole live's trying to climb the ladder in the banking world.

And then some script kiddies come around and take over their business.

I can see your point. Peace.

Im more sceptical about these bankers, I do think they will pull off some regulation scheme in either the US or Europe during 2018.

But l hope im wrong though...

I agree. On one hand, I like that banks and central banks don't have control over cryptocurrencies. But on the other hand, in the future they may be a great tool for illegal drug and weapons dealers. In that case I think some regulations would be required.

In capitalism systems, money is equal to power, and laws should ensure that the richest do not have enough power to restrict individual rights of poor people

Well, you know where I stand on regulations and I dont think ECB (as long as they exist) can keep their hands off cryptos. The question is, how much they can do and I do have some hope regarding decentralized exchanges.

They want regulation not to regulate, but to bring fees back to the regulated markets for transactions. For example if a crypto ETF is offered by a registered broker-dealer they have the blessing of the SEC in the US. This is what ANKORUS is doing with their new ANK tokens. As registered broker dealers, offering a token to swap between crypto and stocks, bonds, treasuries. ankorus.org
