Bitcoin Indonesia Users Dropped Drastically
Director of the Policy and Supervision Department of Bank Indonesia Payment System Ida Nuryanti said Bitcoin users in Indonesia live 30 percent from before the ban comes out.
"Of the one million active Bitcoin users now only 300 thousand users, while the value of Bitcoin is now Rp120 million per Bitcoin," he said after becoming a Digital Economics speaker at the Central Java Bank Indonesia Office, Semarang, Wednesday, April 5, 2018.
He sees Bitcoin transactions not transparent, can not be tracked, who is the sender and the recipient. BI also coordinates with law enforcers to protect the police and Rupiah currency.
"If the Bitcoin case can be charged by currency law, if the pornography website can be an ITE Act, all payment service providers are prohibited from using virtual currency," he said.
