Hi everybody! How's everyone doing ?
Here's a copy of an article I read this morning ( on 24coins.fr). This was writtent 5 months ago :

Global central banks will start holding digital currencies next year, said Peter Smith, CEO of a cryptocurrency exchange company at CNBC. He thus indicated that 2018 will be the first year when we will begin to see central banks store crypto-currencies.

He explained that these institutions will probably buy Bitcoins and Ethereum as part of their reserves. They hold gold and foreign exchange reserves to enable them to act in the event of a market crisis.

THE GROWTH OF BITCOIN WILL ENCOURAGE BANKS TO OPERATE IN THIS MATKET;

The rise in Bitcoin could mean that some monetary authorities will have to start holding it, he added. Smith confirms that Bitcoin is already among the top 30 currencies and that this trend could accelerate.
Many experts believe that crypto currencies could be negotiated by central banks. In an article relayed by Coindesk, Eugene Etsebeth, a former senior official of the South African central bank, said that digital currencies would meet a new requirement. He said that Bitcoin would be considered digital gold. Etsebeth said that in 2018, central banks will see Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies become the largest currencies in the world.

DIGITAL CURRENCIES ISSUED BY CENTRAL BANKS

Peter Smith, who talks to many regulators, went further and said central banks will start issuing their own digital assets next year. Some monetary authorities are already conducting research for the creation of their own currency cryptos last week. These include Saudi Arabia and the Arab Emirates.

The Chinese central bank has also shown their intention to launch a new virtual currency. Some senior officials have also warned investors about the dangers associated with the development of currency cryptography. Mario Draghi, the governor of the European Central Bank, said that the crypto-currency market is not yet mature.

And you, what do you think about that? Does this prognosis still worth something, is it really gonna happen ?

In a few hours I will make another post in order to discuss wether the bitcoin can kill central banks or not.

See you later
