How to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum in Canada.
The easiest way for Canadians to buy and sell bitcoins or ethereum is to use the Vancouver based site Quadrigacx.
- Go to https://www.quadrigacx.com/
- Create your account
- Get verified by Equifax (Instant)
- Get ID and Address Verification (takes a few days)
Note that your buying and selling power will be limited until you have both verification done.
After the verification is complete you can start trading. The first thing you want to do is deposit funds into your account. To do that simply click on the canadian flag icon and choose fund account.
Below you can see all the funding options. The easiest and fastest way is to use interac online. The service is available for Scotia, TD, RBC and Bank of Montreal. Interac online allow you to get your fund instantly.
With money in your account, you can start trading. You can choose to buy Bitcoin or Ethereum. Note that your Quadrigacx account can also be funded by sending Bitcoin or Ethereum directly.

Very good article. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Sell the coins that you know nothing about. Do proper research on any coin you buy. I’ve been using Quadrigacx with no problems. The American exchanges are currently over loaded causing people to lose money. I’ll stick with Quadrigacx for now.
