Bitcoin token of ERC 20 standard will appear in January 2019.
Three criptogame - BitGo, Kyber Republic and Protocol have teamed up to create a token Bitcoin ERC 20, developed in Ethereum. The Wrapped Bitcoin token (WBTC) will be launched in early 2019 and will provide the crypto industry with a cross-chain infrastructure.
WBTC aims to combine bitcoin's scalability with the ability to create smart contracts on the Ethereum platform.
Says Loy Luu, co-founder and CEO of Cyber Network,
"Applications on Ethereum, such as decentralized exchanges and financial protocols, will be able to use bitcoin without problems, creating trading pairs with BTC that were impossible until now. At the same time, the use of bitcoin will be expanded through more decentralized use cases, such as exchanges, credits, tokens."
