Wow, what happened there???!!!
The price of Bitcoin jumped massively about an hour ago and is largely holding those gains propelling it above the moving averages that signalled a bearish market. It's not possible to assert what caused the jump, but given the magnitude, it was likely triggered by a large purchase that then triggered subsidiary buying. Does anyone have thoughts on the cause?
Given that we've been in a long (for bitcoin) bearish run with many of the weak hand shaken out of the market, could this be the start of the correction or is it a bull trap?
Of course this is all rather pedestrian for Steem up at time of writing 29% in the last 24 hours.

Good spot. That's probably the cause, but I guess there are a lot of things contributing. Lots of positive news, although in fairness there has been lots of positive news for weeks with minimal price impact.
Its actually good for steemit, usually most currencies are linked with BTC due to exchanges, when BTC booms, we receive nice rewards for our posts!!

Yes, looks like Steem is up nearly 3x as much as BTC. Although historically Steem has been a bit more volatile than BTC. I.e. when BTC goes up Steem often goes up more, but when BTC goes down Steem often goes down more. Hopefully you've been keeping your Steem and not selling it...
