300 million gone!?!?!
I'm sure most people has heard about the parity wallet hack but that story just keeps continuing from there and it only gets worse. The hackers took about $32 million worth of ethereum from a vulnerability but that's nothing because with an attempt to fixing that, they brought in a new bug that got to even more wallets and one of the developers ended up with $300 million worth of ethereum. Seeing as it being an accident, he tried to give back the money but ended up locking up all the fund permanently. That's a lose situation for everyone!
The person responsible is a user called "devops199" and it's been circulating around online showing all the different wallets that are affected. I should note that the number lost is upwarpds of $300 million but could be as low as $150 million (if you can call that low) but either way that's too much. This could trigger a hard fork in the near future which has worked before but there's no guarantee in this game that it will work again,
I hope that none of you were affected by this and if you are, the best of luck to hopefully get some resolution soon. Be careful with your wallets everyone and have a nice day.
PS. that segwit2x cancellation should help out alt coins if you're stuck in it like I am

Segwit2x cancelation i think was bad in short term and great in long term.
About bugs they are normal lets hope that was fixed :)
I agree, the short term is going to be pretty chaotic I think but long term for sure will be better in the end. Lots of news going around today, I'm sure there will be a lot of panicked people though with the segwit news.
i just posted about this myself , have a look

For the parity issue dont worry bud it's fixable .I feel bad for anyone affected but all of us can learn from what happened , we should choose hardware wallets or stuff like exodous .
O yea I'm glad it's fixable but what I was talking about was the money that was locked up permanently by the developer. I'm just sorry for all the people that can't get access to it and wondering how they will be reimbursed if anything. I agree about the wallet choosing, it's so hard with all these choices.
