El Salvador begins mining Bitcoin with geothermal energy from its volcanoes

The mining of Bitcoin (BTC) with geothermal energy from volcanoes is already a reality in El Salvador. President Nayib Bukele shared, this Tuesday, September 28, a video showing the installation of a container with dozens of ASIC equipment in the Berlin geothermal field, in Usulután.

In June of this year, President Bukele announced that his country would not only recognize bitcoin as legal tender, but would also encourage the mining of BTC. For this activity, the ruler assured that El Salvador would use geothermal energy from its volcanoes, something that attracted international media attention.
