CBOE Futures Trading is coming and I'm nervous as a Preacher on a Schoolbus
So here's the deal...
Bitcoin Futures trading is about to start happening and I'm nervous, anxious, and every other descriptive word... but like the rest of the world... I think I'm wholly unprepared.
This entire market (and most of the free world) is about to go on a roller coaster ride the likes of which nobody has seen in...well... ever! If you don't think this is a big deal, you haven't been paying attention. The first few hours and days of futures trading, initiated first by the CBOE and next week (december 18th) by the CME group, and then later in 2018 by the NASDAQ itself is a BIG F'ing DEAL. It all starts this evening, around 5 eastern time.
This is the digital currency/financial technology equivalent of the rise into adulthood of the Bitcoin and it's community. There will be Miners shorting bitcoin to lock in profits. There will be institutional investors looking to go long and short, with a variety of strategies, speculators going long XBT. There will be a S-ton of liquidity pouring into this market. This will bring with it a lot of media attention, social validation and proof of the Bitcoin Protocol (a content type, not a "money").
This is a BIG deal and it means different things to different people.
