Bitcoin Hardfork Segwit2x cancelled
Segwit2x Hardfork was aimed at increasing the block size and to increase the scalability. Event was scheduled for Nov 16. However Segwit2x Lead developers has now called off the event since keeping the community together was deemed more important. Even-though they feel that increasing the block size is the right thing to do, they do not want the community to be split up. Segwit2x upgrade plan will remain suspended until the the community comes together and feels the necessity to do it.
Suspension was signed by some of the CEOs who led the Segwit2x effort
Mike Belshe, CEO of Bitcoin security company BitGo
Wences Casares, CEO of Bitcoin vault company Xapo
Jihan Wu, CEO of mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain
Jeff Garzik, CEO of blockchain enterprise company Bloq
Peter Smith, CEO of Bitcoin wallet and data company Blockchain
Erik Voorhees, CEO of crypto-to-crypto exchange Shapeshift
So now how the scalability issue is going to be resolved?
